Understanding HS Codes
The Harmonized System (HS) is an international nomenclature for classifying products. The first 6 digits are standardized globally, while additional digits are country-specific.
- First 2 digits: Chapter (e.g., 84 = Machinery)
- First 4 digits: Heading
- First 6 digits: Subheading (international standard)
- 8-10 digits: National tariff line
